"Being new to the Southern Utah area and a first time mom, I had a lot of questions about childbirth.  Going against the grain of my family and what was considered a "normal" birth really put me in a league of my own as far as birthing resources and a network of support.  Thankfully a little internet research led me to the door of DyAnna Gordon for which I will be forever grateful!  Immediately upon contact Dy was open minded, listened to my desire for a natural childbirth and guided me along the way.  She was blunt and open when I needed her to be and she was kind and compassionate when I needed support.  Dy is extremely well educated on many topics and never once made me feel like I was making a bad choice.  She is the epitome of professional yet exudes a sister-like personality in telling you like it is and loving you for who you are.
  The birthing class we took from Dy really helped us put into perspective what we would need to do to prepare for a natural childbirth and helped my husband understand how he could support me at birth.  When it came time to birth though, I could have never replaced Dy at my side and was so grateful to have her there.  Dy put us in contact with our midwife who I also could never have birthed without; they were a great team that always put our baby and us first and helped us through what could have been an emotionally draining couple of days yet turned out to be a beautiful birthing experience.
  When baby number two was on the way we were anxious and excited to experience another birth.  Because of the resources we gained from our first child we knew we wanted to have an un-medicated birth once again and had Dy lined up to be by our side. After laboring throughout an afternoon and evening, and multiple phone calls to Dy, we soon realized our baby was on the way and fast!  We could have never replaced the peace and calm that Dy brought to us that night as our sweet baby girl was born at home in the water just minutes after Dy arrived.  Dy once again turned an intense few hours of labor into a beautiful experience as she seamlessly entered the scene allowing us to feel the true joy of childbirth.
  Although neither of my daughters births went quite like I expected, I would never change the way they arrived nor would I change having Dy there with us. I would highly recommend Dy as a Childbirth Educator, Doula and Midwife without hesitation; she is blessing the lives of babies and mamas every day."

"DyAnna was my midwife for the birth of my first son. I wasn’t sure what to expect or what needed to happen in order for me to have a good experience, but she did. DyAnna helped me understand everything! I felt so relaxed, comfortable, excited, and most of all, informed every time I left an appointment. Not only that, but DyAnna really cared about me and my little family. My appointments felt like visits from a good friend and I always looked forward to them. During my labor and delivery, I didn’t have to worry about a thing. She was right there taking care of everything and guiding me through it. I felt so assured that all was going well and that everything would be okay; and it was. Everything went really smoothly and I was so grateful.
  Her childbirth classes are amazing! My husband and I attended them and had a wonderful time. We felt so at ease with DyAnna and were able to ask questions and gain more understanding about the birthing process and taking care of our baby. DyAnna understands so much about the emotional, mental, physical and spiritual aspects of having a baby and did a superb job at helping us understand them as well.
  DyAnna also helped us to really understand all of the choices we would need to make regarding the birthing process and with our baby afterwards. She helped us make informed decisions about post-natal care for our baby, vaccinations, circumcision, etc. She also helped me make decisions about cloth diapering, breastfeeding and baby wearing, also.
  DyAnna is truly an outstanding midwife and I would recommend her to anyone. She loves her clients and is very good at what she does. I couldn’t have asked for a better birthing experience with her."

"I took DyAnna’s childbirth classes and learned things I never would have known otherwise. Her classes are fantastic, and helped my husband and I decide to have a home birth. DyAnna is easy to talk to and you know that she genuinely cares about you and your baby. She is supportive and loving before, during, and after the birth. I always felt like I could talk to her about any question or problem I was having. She is fun to be around and knows how to bring a smile to her clients faces. I couldn’t have gotten through labor without her support. She was there for me through each contraction supporting me and encouraging me. She was there for me after my son’s birth also. She was at my house any time I needed anything. She truly does love and care about her clients. I loved having DyAnna at my birth and I never want to have a birth without her love and support!"

"DyAnna isn't just a midwife or a doula, when you invite her to be part of your birth experience you have a new friend. I first met Dy shortly after my sister had her attend her birth. We were all camping together. Later I took her birth class and was amazed at her knowledge and way of explaining things. I took a hospital class with my first child, and it left me more scared and worried about giving birth than I had been before. Dy's class explains everything in a way that is not only easy to understand, but also shows how the human body is made to have babies. It's a natural process and one that we should look forward to with anticipation and preparation, not some life-threatening thing that needs to be feared and gotten through. My husband was so impressed that we asked her to be my doula for a VBAC(vaginal birth after cesarean). She helped through some rough spots in the pregnancy and helped me stay positive. I remember one time I was expressing some concerns and I said "If I can do this VBAC" she stopped me right there and said "You mean when you have this VBAC".
  She had major surgery 6 weeks before my baby was born, but she was still there for me, cheering me on. The thing that she said that helped me the most was "You'll never have to do that contraction again." and I think that is good advice for any hard thing we do in life. She is an amazing woman with lots of experience and I'm saddened that she won't be able to help me at my next birth because we have moved out of state."
